Who We Need

The xTuple Customer Success team needs a solutions-driven Onboarding Engineer (OE) to deliver expert guidance and input during the presales process and when leading the onboarding and software implementation of new customers. We need someone who understands our mission of ensuring the ongoing success of our customers through a coherent and smooth onboarding process as well as ongoing, high-quality training and support.

Position Overview

The Onboarding Engineer at xTuple partners with the Sales lead as a technical resource during the presale stages of Discovery and Demo. The OE helps convey how the xTuple application addresses prospect pain points and needs by distilling complex technical concepts and assisting the Sales lead with tailoring the demo experience. Post-sale, the OE facilitates a smooth transition for new customers, ensuring a successful onboarding and software implementation within a 90-day window. Post-onboarding, the OE continues to be a resource to the customer as needed.

Responsibilities

  • During discovery calls and demos, collaborate with Sales on identifying and gathering information about prospect needs, requirements, pain points, and motivations for buying
  • Use presales/pre-onboarding surveys and questionnaires to ask relevant questions in preparation for customer onboarding
  • Ensure careful planning of product demonstrations, tailoring demos and presentations to the specific needs and pain points of the prospect
  • Be a solutions leader and active participant during product demonstrations, partnering with and supporting the sales lead
  • Collaborate with sales on identifying onboarding level of effort based on customer’s requirements, ERP experience, internal dedicated resources, and data migration needs
  • Respond to prospect’s technical and onboarding questions during presales process
  • During onboarding, work with new customers on defining/understanding their business processes and terminology
  • Educate new customers, admin and end users, on all modules of the xTuple application
  • Collaborate with xTuple team and work directly with customer to lead the successful execution of a 90-day ERP onboarding
  • Lead customer onboarding and software implementation remotely using web conferencing tools
  • Learn xTuple application at deep level to understand and communicate how xTuple is used to run complex, integrated business operations; become an expert in the features and benefits of xTuple
  • Advocate for customers by providing customer feedback to the marketing, sales, and product development teams
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with internal xTuple teams across the organization

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in driving solutions-based conversations with prospects and customers
  • Experience selling and/or implementing complex, enterprise-level technology solutions, preferably as relates to ERP and inventory management for manufacturers
  • Incredible communication skills, written and verbal; ability to make complex technical concepts accessible to non-technical audiences
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and energetic attitude when collaborating with internal teams, prospects, and customers
  • Ability to present as a solutions expert who can guide customers through detailed discussions of how their business processes translate to the xTuple environment
  • Highly technical with aptitude for learning and configuring complex software
  • Ability to travel as needed

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, computer science or other related field
  • 5+ years implementing ERP or related business operations software
  • QuickBooks or other accounting software experience
  • General manufacturing knowledge and experience preferred
  • Understanding of relational databases, PostgreSQL scripting and query development, Javascript, and Qt preferred

The xTuple Customer Success team needs an eager, customer-centric Software Support Analyst to provide courteous and prompt technical assistance to customers via phone, email, chat, and web conference. Position Overview

As a Software Support Analyst, you’ll provide assistance and training to customers using the xTuple Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application.To be successful in this role, you should be a keen listener,troubleshooter and problem solver. You’ll also need to be collaborative and a team player. The Customer Success team is the perfect launch pad for a career at xTuple; you’ll get your hands dirty with the core product right away, and learn the tools and skills to grow in the CS team toward Onboarding and Professional Services, or move up/over into other roles in Software Development or even Sales and Marketing. At xTuple, we all use our own software product, and we all have some interaction with our customers, who are the core of our success.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and troubleshoot system issues that customers and partners report; work with senior technical consultants and other team members to resolve issues as quickly as possible, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Identify and analyze issue trends.
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical assistance to customers via phone, email, chat, and web conference.
  • Use internal xTuple ERP application to:
    • Track, manage, and clearly, concisely, and accurately document all work and internal communication related to issue resolution.
    • Communicate and document communications with customers regarding their open tickets.
    • Accurately document steps to reproduce software bugs and then escalate to xTuple development team.
  • Assist customers with “how to” instructions related to xTuple core product and packages.
  • Help train other team members on how to resolve issues.
  • Create knowledge base articles that address frequently asked questions, best practices, and instruction on software functionality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to learn xTuple ERPproduct as well as new technologies and platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize customer tickets based on severity of issue.
  • Strong customer service skills; exceptional listening skills and ability to understand internal and customer issues and requests.
  • Ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner; excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity for handling numerous priorities and maintaining knowledge of multiple products and their features.
  • Adeptness for problem solving, troubleshooting, analysis and testing.
  • Ability to maintain positive, upbeat attitude while working in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.

Desired Technical Skills

  • Experience writing/using SQL queries
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Performance troubleshooting
  • Server/Client/Network connectivity
  • Experience with remote desktop control solutions (WebEx, Zoom, LogMeIn, etc.)
  • Bonus if you have a working knowledge of JavaScript or C++

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of Help Desk / Customer Service / Technical Support experience
  • Preferably a degree or coursework in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science Degree, or other related field/emphasis
  • Bonus if you have Accounting experience, such as QuickBooks
