Accessing Your Demo Account

Congratulations! Your xTuple ERP demo has been activated.

As you may know, there are now three editions of xTuple ERP:

  • PostBooks Edition is our entry-level offering, available completely free and open source, and suitable for small businesses of all kinds.

  • Standard Edition is a midrange commercial offering, which adds advanced inventory control, warehousing, and other features to the core package.

  • Manufacturing Edition is our premium commercial offering, recommended for manufacturing companies in both discrete and batch process production; make to order, make to stock, or mixed-mode; even job shops and engineer-to-order.

All three Editions use the exact same client software which gives you the option of connecting to a demo database at xTuple, or to a local database that you specify.

The demo database you connect to will have the full Manufacturing Edition functionality.

ACCESSING THE DEMO
To access the demo account you will need to:

  • Download the latest version of the PostBooks Installer from SourceForge.net. The installer is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Beginning with version 3.2.2, we're distributing the xTuple client binaries as part of the full installer package. You'll only need the xTuple client to access the Hosted Demo, so you may choose not to install the database and other components if you don't want them.
  • Access your demo account on our servers. Here's how:
    • Once you have installed the xTuple ERP client, launch it.
    • On the Log In screen, select the button next to
“Log in to registered xTuple demo account”
    • Enter the username and password from your confirmation email to access your account. (Hint: should be the same information you use to log in to this website).

    • Click the Login button.

If you have used an earlier demo, please take a moment to download the most recent version of the software. This will ensure compatibility with our hosted demo.

USING THE DEMO
Once you've connected to the server, we recommend you follow the online companion to the xTuple ERP demo. It will walk you through a sample business cycle, including sales order entry, planning, purchasing, raw material receipts, manufacturing and finally fulfillment and invoicing.

It also includes chapters on functionality outside the normal order-to-cash flow:  Customer/Corporate Relationship Management, Master Production Schedule and Forecast, Buffer Management, and Multi-Currency.

You can also check out the full xTuple ERP User Guide or our online videos.

Your personal demo database account will be active for six weeks.  If you feel you need additional time to evaluate the software at the end of that period, please contact sales@xtuple.com to make arrangements.

We would also urge you to check out the xTuple community website, where you can find user-to-user forums, our bug/feature tracker, our new documentation wiki, and much more.  You may also access the site from the "Community" menu item in your xTuple ERP Client.

Please feel free to email us at this address, demo@xtuple.com, with any other questions.  Thank you very much for your interest in xTuple ERP.
