xTuple Version 1: OpenMFG begins (ca. 2001) Founded – a software marriage of accounting and sophisticated manufacturing functionality for small- to mid-sized business; tackled tough, mature market filled with big, expensive legacy vendors. xTuple Version 2: OpenMFG grows (ca. 2004) Fully integrated CRM, multicurrency and more advanced manufacturing to deliver cost-effective enterprise system; started to embrace community interest and contributions to the product. Version 3: xTuple unveiled (ca. 2007) Introduced PostBooks as free and open source (FOSS) core product. xTuple PostBooks added support for scripted customizations and packages, new name stands for growth and more functionality than just manufacturing. Version 4: Mobile Business (ca. 2012) Fully interoperable Mobile Web and Desktop – Major R&D bridges system clients to use ERP on-the-go, anytime, anywhere; aggressive domestic and international growth of Partner Channel, more strategic integrations with complementary products, and increased vertical focus on industry, such as electrical distribution and food processing.
